In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the TRUMPET shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.

1 Corinthians 15:52

A performer, scholar, and mentor, he weaves a rich tapestry of experience from the world’s stages to the studio and classroom, equipped to inspire and shape the next generation of musicians.

His journey is one of remarkable breadth. As a lead trumpet player, he has commanded stages from the prestigious Carnival and Norwegian cruise lines, accompanying major production shows and a variety of distinguished guest artists, to concert halls across Argentina, Australia, Europe, and beyond. This international rhythm infuses his work, which spans symphonic ensembles, jazz combos, rock bands, and pit orchestras, absorbing diverse musical traditions into his artistic core.

As a bandleader, he has authored his vision across five commercial albums. As a collaborator, he is a sought-after presence with ensembles such as the Alhambra Orchestra, the Symphonic Band of Palm Beaches, the Ambassadors of Swing, Making Faces, Robert Navarro Tropical Jazz and the Dreamers Big Band, among others. His recent tours as a lead trumpet player for international show bands further underscore his standing as a top-tier touring professional.

Orlando’s academic foundation is as distinguished as his performance portfolio. He earned his Bachelor of Fine Arts from the City College of New York, studying under the legendary bassist Ron Carter and performing in Carter’s Small Jazz Ensemble while deepening his knowledge of jazz history, improvisation, and composition. He then pursued a dual Master of Music and a Master’s in Higher Education Administration from Florida International University, immersing himself in a conservatory-style environment where he refined his skills in harmony, arranging, and pedagogy alongside internationally recognized artists. His active role in the artistic community has included featured performances on Miami’s premier jazz station, WDNA.

Guided by master teachers like Chris Jaudes, Diego Urcola and Chris Rogers, Orlando pairs his artistic discipline with a passion for mentorship, investing in the future through teaching, volunteering, and community engagement.

Orlando stands at the intersection of accomplished performer, insightful academic, and dedicated mentor. With a career that bridges the concert hall, the jazz club, the studio, and the seminar room, he brings to every endeavor a spirit of professionalism, curiosity, and creative excellence. He is passionately dedicated to the transformative power of music and to preparing students for meaningful, versatile, and sustainable careers in the arts.
